Identifying cars
	The best way to identify 'F' types is by the chassis number. Although photographs may show licence plates, over the years, many cars have been re-registered and exported. Even where the original registration is known, many records have unfortunately been lost. (See Registry)
	The chassis number was stamped on the factory plate on the 'firewall' -
	the centre hinge of the bonnet ('hood' in the U.S.A.) -
	and the driver's side front dumb-iron (the cast front spring carrier) -
